The Corpse of Forgemaster Finlay is the body of a formerly enslaved Wildhammer dwarf who was forced to work for the Twilight's Hammer and charged with making a weapon for Cho'gall. After he completed the weapon he was drowned in the Loch Verrall by the Twilight's Hammer.[1]
However, through the efforts Countess Verrall his spirit was able to tell adventurers about the weapon being imbued with the power of an Old God, before passing into the Light.
