Flight Master's License (formerly known as Azerothian Navigation) allows players with flying mounts to use them in Kalimdor, the Eastern Kingdoms and Deepholm. It is available at level 60 (the same as the Expert Riding skill) and costs a base of 250g. Alliance players can train this from Bralla Cloudwing in Stormwind. Horde players can train this from Maztha in Orgrimmar. You can also train it from any of the other Flying Trainers in Outland or Northrend.

While a player may train for flight at level 60 and even purchase a flying mount, players who have not purchased the Cataclysm expansion will not be able to mount in the old world.

Note that you cannot fly in any of the World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Burning Crusade related Blood Elf or Draenei starting areas — Azuremyst Isle, Bloodmyst Isle, Eversong Woods, Ghostlands or the Isle of Quel'Danas, despite those areas being part of the old world.

NOTE: As of World of Warcraft: Legion Patch 7.3.5, this ability and item are no longer needed for flying in Azeroth.[1]

  • You may have to reload your UI to get this to work.
