'''PvP rewards''' consist of different kind of items (Armor/Weapons/Trinkets, etc) that can be purchased using either [[Honor Points]] or specific PVP tokens awarded by fighting in outdoors in some Outland zones. Items awarded for Honor Points can be purchased from vendors in the [[Champions' Hall]] (Alliance) or the [[Hall of Legends]] (Horde). Faction specific battleground rewards must be purchased from vendors at the entrances of the battleground (Not from the cities where the [[Battlemasters]] are located). The only exception is [[Alterac Valley]], in which you may purchase PvP rewards from vendors outside Alterac Valley, as well as from vendors inside the instance itself.

== Arena & Battlegrounds ==
  +
Arena was introduced with the release of [[Burning Crusade|The Burning Crusade]]. Each Arena Season brings a unique set of Arena Rewards. With the onset of a new season, the previous rewards will be available for a 15% discount, while the predecessor to that set will be available for purchase with honor and battleground tokens. For example, with the start of Season 3, Season 2 armor will be discounted 15% while Season 1 gear will be a battleground reward. At the release of Season 4, Season 2 then replaces Season 1 and so on.

  +
Since [[Burning Crusade|The Burning Crusade]] all PvP gear has come from Arena, with the most recent season rewards requiring participation in arena and the previous season rewards requiring participation in battlegrounds.

{{evt|PARTY_MEMBERS_CHANGED|Party}}

−
−
Fired when the player's party changes.

−
−
As of 1.8.3 this event also fires when players are moved around in a Raid and when a player leaves the raid. This holds true even if the changes do not affect your party within the raid.

−
−
4-2-05 Edit: This event is called twice when the event PARTY_LOOT_METHOD_CHANGED is called.

−
−
7-28-05 EDIT: This event is generated when someone joins or leaves the group, also generated whenever someone rejects an invite and you're in a group. Also, if for instance you have 3 people in your group and you invite a 4th, it will generate 4 events. If you call GetNumPartyMembers() it will return 0, 1, 2, and 3. First event returing zero, 2nd event returning 1, etc etc.

Fired when the player enters the world, enters/leaves an instance, or respawns at a graveyard. Also fires any other time the player sees a loading screen.

−
To check if the player is entering an instance, check [[API_GetPlayerMapPosition|GetPlayerMapPosition]] to see if both X and Y are zero.

−
−
Correction on the above comment: When PLAYER_ENTERING_WORLD fires, you'll notice that WORLD_MAP_UPDATE fires just before it. My instincts tell that leaving an instance puts the player in void space momentarily. So for the case that you are entering AND leaving an instance, [[API_GetPlayerMapPosition|GetPlayerMapPosition]] always returns the coordinates <nowiki>[0,0]</nowiki> and hence there is no way to determine using the event PLAYER_ENTERING_WORLD if the player is entering an instance or not. When leaving an instance the following events fire (ignoring party/raid events).

:WORLD_MAP_UPDATE <--- Player coordinates are non-zero here

Instances do have coordinates for units once the second WORLD_MAP_UPDATE event has fired. For the case of entering a battleground such as WSG, WORLD_MAP_UPDATE won't fire until you leave Silverwing Hold or Warsong Lumber Mill and you are outside. --[[User:Salanex|Salanex]]

Revision as of 21:52, 9 January 2012

PvP rewards consist of different kind of items (Armor/Weapons/Trinkets, etc) that can be purchased using either Pvpcurrency-honor-alliancePvpcurrency-honor-horde [Honor Points] or specific PVP tokens awarded by fighting in outdoors in some Outland zones. Items awarded for Honor Points can be purchased from vendors in the Champions' Hall (Alliance) or the Hall of Legends (Horde). Faction specific battleground rewards must be purchased from vendors at the entrances of the battleground (Not from the cities where the Battlemasters are located). The only exception is Alterac Valley, in which you may purchase PvP rewards from vendors outside Alterac Valley, as well as from vendors inside the instance itself.

Arena & Battlegrounds

Arena was introduced with the release of The Burning Crusade.

Since The Burning Crusade all PvP gear has come from Arena, with the most recent season rewards requiring participation in arena and the previous season rewards requiring participation in battlegrounds.

World of Warcraft (Level 60)

Prior to the first expansion battlegrounds were the only method of obtaining PvP gear.

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade (Level 70)

During this expansion four seasons were played.

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King (Level 80)

During this expansion four seasons were played.

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm (Level 85)

This expansion is currently in its third PvP season.

Battleground Faction Rewards

Outdoor PvP Rewards

These can be purchased using PvP tokens awarded by completing zone specific PvP objectives.

Outland Battlegear Rewards

The items that form these sets can be purchased from various faction vendors upon reaching honored reputation.

Miscellaneous PvP Rewards

These are mostly novelty and cosmetic items
