Encrypted Twilight Text are used to improved reputation with the Cenarion Circle or to receive special scrolls which can be used at Wind stones.

Encrypted Twilight Text can be acquired by killing Twilight Hammer followers in Silithus:

• Regular Twilight Hammer mobs drop the texts at a rate of about 20%, according to Thottbot. These include:
  • Avengers
  • Masters
  • Geolords
  • Stonecallers
  • Overlords
  • Flamereavers
• Certain named mobs of the Twilight Hammer seem to have an especially low drop rate of around 10% to 15%. For example:
  • Twilight Keeper Havunth
  • Twilight Lord Everun (rare spawn)
• The Twilight Prophet drops between 7 and 10 texts, however, she is elite, followed by 5 regular Twilight mobs and doesn't spawn very often.

Using Twilight Texts for Cenarion Circle reputation

[[{{{2}}}|{{{2}}}]] at Cenarion Hold in Silithus takes Encrypted Twilight Texts in stacks of 10. Each completion of this quest yields 250 Cenarion Circle reputation points.

  • [0] Encrypted Twilight Texts Repeatable quest which requires 10 texts and provides 250 reputation with Cenarion Circle.

Note: post-patch 2.0, the amount of reputation gained from handing in a stack of twilight texts rose from 100 to 250.

Using Twilight Texts for farming Wind stones or patterns

If you're into farming the bosses of the Wind stones in Silithus, or if you're a Blacksmith or Tailor, you might consider giving your texts to [[{{{2}}}|{{{2}}}]]. He hides in a cave in the east of Silithus and tries to decrypt the writings of the Twilight Hammer if you choose to turn them in. If you give 10 texts to Hermit Ortell, you will not receive any reputation, but he will send you a letter about 8 hours later which contains several items as an attachment:

• Decoded Twilight Texts with assorted information on it, which you may or may not find interesting
• Random scrolls of strength/agility/etc
• Possibly one of the Darkrune or Stygian patterns
• Scrolls that can be used to create an Object of Beckoning, which can then be used to choose which Elemental should be summoned at a Wind stone.

These are the relevant quests that are available to you:

• [59] True Believers Requires 10 texts, provides 90 and you will get some random items in the mail, but no reputation reward.
  • [60] Still Believing Repeatable quest which requires 10 texts, provides 45 and you will receive assorted item(s) in the mail.
