Merryweather is a Goblin, loyal to the Horde. She announces herself as an Engineer who occasionally does "odd jobs" for the Horde to make money. She has a relaxed personality and a generally good nature, but has been known to be tense or businesslike when the situation calls for it.

Description

This information is immediately observable given the ability to sense it.

Merryweather is of average height for an adult Goblin woman. She has an average build and a complexion liked cooked spinach. Her eyes are violet, and despite being rather tense, are constantly darting about curiously. Her hair is blue and worn in the "boar tails" style. Like most Goblins, she has a rather playful appearance. Her "neutral" expression is a person who has a lot on their mind, but trying to make the best of things. She has a Blood Elf accent.

Public History

This section contains information that either Merryweather has freely divulged or has been recorded in public records. Characters may come across this information through gossip or public records.

Public Records

Neither the Bilgewater Cartel nor the Steamwheedle Cartel have records of a Goblin named Merryweather. As such, it's likely that her name is an alias.

Silvermoon City records indicate that she travels there frequently.

She is banned from operating experimental equipment in Orgrimmar, Silvermoon City, and Thunderbluff.

Rumors

Merryweather first showed up in Orgrimmar, looking around for an Elder Shaman. Those that responded were informed that an Engineering Accident had occurred, and that she was researching possible cures, including the possibility that a shaman might be able to move the soul from one body to another. Based on her words, herself and an undisclosed group of people were working to cure a patient. However, she has not yet been observed working with a single group of people, and she has yet to follow up on the information she got from the Shaman.

She is known among Horde and Horde-friendly battlefield commanders as having a reputation as a "problem solver". They are silent about what kinds of problems she solves.

Skills and Abilities

Engineering

Merryweather is an engineer, first and foremost. While it is not her profession (she makes very little money from it), she devotes most of her time to it. She delights in the creativity and creation involved, and most of her abilities come from devices that she has built, some that she even designed herself:

  • Stealth Generator - This is an "improvement" on the more common Inv gizmo 01 [Gnomish Cloaking Device]. It is capable of generating it's field for a long period of time, but with a trade off: the device does not grant full invisibility. Merryweather can still be spotted with the device active. Used with a bit of common sense and deception, however, and Merryweather can use it to hide even without cover.
  • Trade engineering [Nitro Boosts] - Common knowledge among Engineers, these use rockets to increase movement speed. They are prone to failure, however.
  • Synapse Springs - Also common knowledge among Engineers, Merryweather has slightly modified these. Rather than occasionally boosting her reaction speed greatly, they increase her reaction speed moderately, but constantly.
  • Mini-Rocket Launcher - Although such devices are common among Goblin Engineers, Merryweather's is custom, though very little differs from the standard design.
  • Trade engineering [Flexweave Underlay] - Another common tinker, this allows Merryweather to use her cloak as a temporary parachute.
  • Other Miscellaneous Devices - Merryweather has numerous other small devices, but they are mainly used to notify her of various events.

Assassin

Merryweather is an assassin for the Horde, and this is what pays the bills. While not a soldier (she makes a distinction), she typically only goes after "military targets" (another distinction), using her engineering devices to allow her to get to her target without detection, and to escape afterwards, also (hopefully) without detection.

  • Sneaker - While not particularly skilled, Merryweather is very quiet when she wants to be. Her devices are designed to operate quietly, and her equipment is securely rigged to prevent unwanted noises. Merryweather is a bit clumsy, though, and has been known to trip and fall right in front of an enemy.
  • Poisons - Merryweather employs various poisons, and this is the primary method by which she takes down her targets. Whether the poison is in food or drink or on her blade, it is fast-acting and efficient. Merryweather possesses antidotes to her poisons, and has consumed her own poisoned food and drink to lure a target into a false sense of security.
  • Traps - Merryweather can set up traps on a route she expects the target to take. These traps can vary in design and intent, but if the intention is to kill the target, one can expect them to be explosive.
  • Combat - Merryweather isn't particularly skilled in melee fighting, but her devices and poisons more than make up for this. If she can catch a person off guard, she can be formidable. However, in a "fair" fight, or a fight where the opponent has recovered from ambush, she is likely to lose and will try to escape.

Character

The information in this section is not considered to be public knowledge or immediately observable. You should speak to me out of character before using this information in character.

Simply, Merryweather is Chaotic Neutral. In detail, she is largely apathetic to needs and desires of others, neither caring enough to help them, nor caring enough to hurt them. Rules and regulation mean little to her. She is not without some measure of morals, but these morals are based more on how her heart directs at the time, although a constant is her loyalty to the Horde.

Money speaks to Merryweather, but not to the extent that it does with most Goblins. Money allows her to repair her equipment, purchase poisons for her blades, and supplies for her engineering. Effectively, money allows her to keep doing what she does. Money isn't the only thing, though, and Merryweather will accept many different forms of payment, from raw materials to services rendered. She is not keen on hurting people for payment alone, and will generally only accept "military targets".

Merryweather travels to Silvermoon City often to relax. She singles out specific people to talk to, but does not reject people who walk up to speak to her. She has been observed to be nervous when the center of attention, and does not like people touching her too much.
