The Eastern Kingdoms is one of the continents which was formed from Azeroth's original single continent following the Great Sundering. It lays to the east of the Great Sea.

At various stages in the history of the game series, the Eastern Kingdoms, or part of it, was referred to as Azeroth, though this usage has been retroactively changed, and that term is now used only to refer to the entire world. See the list of retcons for more details.

The central Eastern Kingdoms are dominated by the Khaz Mountains and the Redridge Mountains. Both cover several reigons.

The Eastern Kingdoms include the regions of Lordaeron, Quel'Thalas, Khaz Modan, and Stormwind. They are the home of the Forsaken, Dwarves, Gnomes, Blood Elves, Humans and the few remaining High Elves.
