Druid abilities are wide-ranging, enabling one to specialize in any of the main roles in the game. Balance spells deal nature damage, restoration spells heal and provide support, feral combat abilities offer melee damage, while guardian Mists-Logo-Small abilities are for tanking.

Being shapeshifted is automatically removed if you attempt to cast a spell or ability not designated to your current form. There are times when switching forms is advantageous regardless what action is taking place. This is because switching between any form to another will automatically break any immobilizing or polymorph effects such as: Snare, Root, and Polymorph.

As of Wrath-Logo-Small Patch 3.0.3, Ability racial bearform Bear Form, Ability druid catformCat Form, Ability druid travelform Travel Form, Ability druid aquaticform Aquatic Form, Ability druid flightform Flight Form, and Ability druid flightform Swift Flight Form are all available to learn from a trainer (Flight Forms are learned from Flight Trainers). As of Mists-Logo-Small Mists of Pandaria, Spell nature forceofnatureMoonkin Form and Ability druid treeoflife Tree of Life Form were acquired through training within the Balance and Restoration specializations respectively. Feral and Guardian abilities are only usable when in Bear Form or Cat Form with some exclusively available to either form.
