Yalda is a night elf spirit located in Auberdine in Darkshore. She is translucent but not stealthed. Before the Cataclysm, she had no functional purpose.

After the , Yalda became a quest giver, seeking "Vengeance".

Yalda has been at the same location throughout the game, outside a house in Auberdine (now called the Ruins of Auberdine) ^[39, 43].

In early versions of the game, the house was wrecked, leading to speculation that Yalda was some sort of ghost. The house then became in order up to the cataclysm, where the house is again wrecked and on fire.

Many years ago I died tragically while attempting to help with a local murloc problem. However, I was content to stay and watch my family and friends instead of passing on to be with the Goddess.

Now they are all gone, or worse, dead, and I have only one reason to stay.
