The orange miasma is residuum from an ancient demonic curse.[1]
How to get there

To get there from the Crossroads, head north along the road until you get to a fork. Face northwest and you will see Dreadmist Peak looming before you.

It the climax of the novel Cycle of Hatred Jaina Proudmoore, Aegwynn, and Lorena confront the Demon Zmodlor here after he tried to start a war between The Horde and Theramore. The group fraught many minions and warlocks of the burning blade here but in the end Jaina and Aegwynn together were able to banish the Demon.[2]

- An undead mage named
Sarilus Foulborne sits atop the Peak. He uses his powers to control
Befouled Water Elemental <Befouled Water Elementals> in Ashenvale. Alliance characters confront him in the quest Mage Summoner.
Rathorian, the leader of this group of Burning Blade cultists, is sometimes inside the Dreadmist Den. If so, Horde characters wishing to complete the quest The Demon Seed have to defeat him first.
- Tauren druids need to get a sample of water from the peak that is believed to poison the gazelles of the Barrens.

- Dreadmist Peak was possibly a volcano. The slopes of the mountain remind one of solidified lava flows.
