Saurfang the Younger was the son of Varok Saurfang, and nephew of Broxigar the Red. His mother's identity is not known. He has just barely reached adolescence, and is one of the few survivors of his war party. In terms of personality, Saurfang was very much like his father and uncle, a fierce warrior to the end. Farseer Corhuk says about him "The son is the father... May the spirits have mercy on those that stand in his way".
He begins the quests:
- [67] Once Were Warriors
- [67] He Will Walk The Earth...
He ends the quest:
Wrath of the Lich King
Saurfang the Younger will also appear in Northrend in the forthcoming expansion Wrath of the Lich King, assumingly alongside the Warsong Offensive. He is in command of the Kor'kron Vanguard, the fortress at the base of Angrathar the Wrath Gate. He also appears to be wearing Battlegear of Might like his father, High Overlord Saurfang; "my father has gifted me with his battle armor and axe," he tells you, "Soon I put it to good use."
During the battle for the Wrath Gate, Saurfang the Younger falls to the Lich King, his soul claimed by Frostmourne, moments before Grand Apothecary Putress unleashes his new Plague on the battlefield. After the Wrath Gate chain, players are given his shattered armor by Alexstrasza and asked to deliver it to his father, the High Overlord. This takes place in [74] Darkness Stirs.
