This is the talk page for discussing improvements to the Ruins of Lordaeron article.

Ghosts

"If you can see the invisible you will see ghosts of the old citizens of Lordaeron still haunt the castle's court yard."

Was this just a try to make the text more dramatic or is there a way to actually see the ghosts ingame? LoeZ

I'm going to try to check this out with the trinket (Spectral Essence) from the Butcher quests in Scholomance that lets you talk to the ghostly inhabitants of Caer Darrow, however, I don't imagine it will work as I have found it to be limited in its use to the residents of the area, as the tooltip suggests it is. --Niryk\talk 19:43, 19 May 2006 (EDT)

you can, with the spirit thing locks get (cant remember lvl ,it's from lvl 16-30, called lesser invisibility detection or somthin like that) TirisfalMage 01:24, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Ruins

I wonder why the Citywalls are so big and the Ruins are so small. What do you think, does Blizz add more Sections to the Ruins someday?

All of Lordaeron?

I find it hard to believe that the area marked "Ruins of Lordaeron" is all of the city... Maybe it's just the remains of the castle, and the rest of the city spread out over the surrounding area, and has since been destroyed? --Bobson 09:04, 21 November 2006 (EST)

My opinion is that this is indeed all of Lordaeron. The city (as i have checked from Beneith. Is the same size as (actually slightly bigger than) the Undercity. I have also been inside the closed off area and ther is plenty of room for a great city of men to flourish here. As to the "What kind of city lets you walk almost straight into the throne room as soon as you enter the city walls?" my opinion is that (after thinking and looking alot) that the castle is everything beyond the drawbridge. The Other part is the city main entrance (probably a market area. on either side of this are two huge doors. One now leads to the Blood Elf teleporter. The other to nothing. There is a door behind the teleporter that is shut. This and the other door were no doubt open and led to the rest of the city. The city is built in a way different to all others ingame because it served no other purpose than as political center. The castle draw bridge was up most of the time judging from the WC3 cinimatic, so access to the keep for ordinary citizens was not easy, or most likely impossible without invitation. This for me makes the current size and layout of the city viable. Gadgetfingers 05:31, 21 February 2007 (EST)

Remember also that WoW only has space to show a representation of the world. In the WC3 cinematic where Arthas returns home corrupted, you can see that the city is huge. The in-game city is tiny in comparison, basically because they can't make space to truly represent the city's size. ---- Varghedin Varghedin  talk / contribs 09:33, 21 February 2007 (EST)
Ya its a scale issue.Baggins 10:22, 21 February 2007 (EST)

Ghosts

You can see the ghosts if you (for example) get a warlock to give you See Invisibility or what it is called and then you can see the ghosts. :)

P.S. Tried it myself D.S. --The Lich King 19:54, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Split the arena?

Should we split the arena info off to a page of its own? Right now the entire page is about the city itself, with just a single sentence and a handful of patch changes for the arena. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 23:36, May 4, 2010 (UTC)

Cataclysm

Ruins of Lordaeron... in cataclysm as i saw it first time in cataclysm i was hoping more than a large empty castle with forest trees? well in cataclysm the towers that once in the backyard now gone and large trees that is there can be seen, so the ruins is now more like a large park than a city(AN ALLIANCE EX-CAPITAL FGS) or even a castle. I also expect ruins of Lordaeron arena to be inside the city. I understand the city suppose to be dead and there's not enough space etc, but really bliz got to do something about it... This really is a waste of large zone like the tirisfal grove area, would be cool if Tirisfal is reforged for the city zone not just a large capitol zone. -- Menethils (talk) 09:16, Sept 21, 2010 (UTC)

Hmm, this has nothing to do with the page's content... forums are over there. =) SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 21:16, September 21, 2010 (UTC)

Well ok... uc is one of my favourite city, blizz almost ruined my day when i saw the ruins its like putting things to make it look nice and then moved on without even being serious, could hardly belive that it was an entire city zone(those trees, blood and grasses that didnt even match with the main entrance). I was wondering wether if any changes would likely occur to this zone. -- Menethils (talk) 22:04, Sept 22, 2010 (UTC)

Cinematic sound

Is there any particular reason why the ability to hear the cinematic from WCIII while in the throne room is tagged as being in the RPG? Daniera (talk) 10:36, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
