The Swamps of Sorrow (WC1 Orc)

The Swamps of Sorrow is the first (1) mission of the orc campaign of Warcraft: Orcs & Humans. An orc commander is ordered to construct and outpost, that would later be known as Kyross in the human campaign. This orc commander is thought to be Orgrim Doomhammer because of later doings, although it has never been confirmed.

Briefing

Blackhand has assigned you to an outpost in the Swamps of Sorrow. Your task is simple enough that even the War Chief feels you are capable of it. Construct at least six farms, so that we may keep our troops well fed and ready to do battle. Only a fool would leave his treasures unguarded, so you must also build a barracks for the defense of these farms.

The battle

A small garrison of orcs started mining gold and harvesting lumber in an unknown area of the Swamp of Sorrows, and with these resources they started constructing an outpost. During the construction they were attacked by human footmen and archers. After fending off the human attacks, they finished constructing the six farms and the barracks, as ordered by Blackhand.

Aftermath

After the battle, the orc outpost was named Kyross, and then, the orc commander moved to the Borderlands to defend them from an upcoming human attack.
