This guide is dedicated to listing all gear, spells, or abilities that provide damage when hit. It also attempts to create combinations of how a class can create the most retribution damage.

- [Gahz'rilla Fang] - Chance On Hit: Surrounds you with electricity, dealing 10 Nature damage to any who strike you for 15 seconds.
Shields
- [Force Reactive Disk] - Equip: When the shield blocks it releases an electrical charge that damages all nearby enemies. This also has a chance of damaging the shield (deals 30-40 damage to enemies in a 10 yard radius each block).
- [Crest of Retribution] - Equip: Deals 5 to 35 damage every time you block.
- [Drillborer Disk] - Equip: When struck in combat inflicts 3 Arcane damage to the attacker.
Necklaces
[Talisman of Binding Shard]- This is no longer obtainable.
Rings
- [Naglering] - Equip: When struck in combat inflicts 3 Arcane damage to the attacker.
Trinkets
- [Heart of the Scale] - Use: Increases Fire Resistance by 20 and deals 20 Fire damage to anyone who strikes you with a melee attack for 5 minutes. 30 minute cooldown.
- [Fetish of Chitinous Spikes] - Use: Spikes sprout from you causing 25 Nature damage to attackers when hit. Lasts 30 seconds. 3 minute cooldown.
- [Essence of the Pure Flame] - Equip: When struck in combat inflicts 13 Fire damage to the attacker.

- [Cloak of Flames] - Equip: Deals 5 Fire damage to anyone who strikes you with a melee attack.

Based on the information at this time (May 13, 2006) the most consistent retribution damage you could deal would be:
Alliance Paladin or Warrior
Max Thorns buff = 31.5 when hit. Max Retribution Aura = 30 when hit. Max Fire Shield = 13 when attacked. Naglering = 3 damage when hit. Cloak of flames = 5 damage when hit. Razor Gauntlets = 3 damage when hit. Essence of the Pure Flame = 13 damage when hit.
Total of 98.5 damage dealt every time you are hit.
Additionally Drillborer Disk + Thorium Shield spike will deal 25 - 65 damage when you block.
Using the proc and use abilities of other items will increase this, but for a short amount of time.
Horde Warrior
Max Thorns buff = 31.5 when hit. Max Fire Shield = 13 when attacked. Naglering = 3 damage when hit. Cloak of flames = 5 damage when hit. Razor Gauntlets = 3 damage when hit. Essence of the Pure Flame = 13 damage when hit.
Total of 68.5 damage dealt every time you are hit.
Additionally Drillborer Disk + Thorium Shield spike will deal 25 - 65 damage when you block.
Using the proc and use abilities of other items will increase this, but for a short amount of time.
Horde Shaman
Max Thorns buff = 31.5 when hit. Max Fire Shield = 13 when attacked. Naglering = 3 damage when hit. Cloak of flames = 5 damage when hit. Essence of the Pure Flame = 13 damage when hit.
Total of 65.5 damage dealt every time you are hit.
Lightning shield could increase this by 198, to 266.5, but I believe the shaman would need to recast it every 3 times he was hit.
Additionally Drillborer Disk + Thorium Shield spike will deal 25 - 65 damage when you block.
Using the proc and use abilities of other items will increase this, but for a short amount of time.
