During BlizzCon 2018 a limited, but playable demo of World of Warcraft: Classic was available to play for convention attendees and Virtual Ticket purchasers (from Blizzard desktop app).[1] Roughly 20 demo realms were setup to play on. These realms had no known collective name. The demo was no longer playable a week after the convention.

After the demo, a variety of Closed and Open Beta realms were made available until a few weeks before release. The client version was updated to Patch 1.13.2 for the beta releases.
