The Tempest Key was originally the attunement quest required to enter The Eye, the raid instance of Tempest Keep. The attunement requirement for both The Eye and Serpentshrine Cavern were removed in Patch 2.1.2, but Blizzard said that they wished to add a reward for players who decide to complete the chain. According to Eyonix, it will not be available to players beyond level 70 in the new expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, to prevent easy access to the title.[1]
