Captain Placeholder

"Inside our hearts dear Placeholder will always be alive!"

Captain Placeholder was originally created purely as a temporary measure, allowing players to travel from Menethil Harbor to Auberdine while a glitch in the boat system was being adressed, the Captain quickly became quite popular among players.

When he was removed from the game, a dedicated player created a song about him titled The Lament of Captain Placeholder which can be downloaded from http://wow.ogaming.com/music/Captain_Placeholder.wav.

On the stormy shores of Azeroth,
A silhouette did stand.
A brave and stalwart sailor,
Who gave a helpin' hand.
Without fail, on every whim,
which we did demand,
He simply smiled and waved his hand
and sent us 'cross the land.
