The "Grand Magister" is the title held by the leader of all blood elven magisters on Azeroth, Rommath. It is unclear whether or not this was a recognized title before Rommath's return from Outland, as no known records exist of previous Grand Magisters.
Curiously, a portion of the Magister's Terrace is named "Grand Magister's Asylum", and several items bearing the title such as "
[Grand Magister's Staff of Torrents]" exist.
Speculation
- It is possible that due to the previous two rulers of Blood Elf society, Anasterian Sunstrider and his son Kael'thas both being formidable mages in their own right, they thus had no need to delegate the role to another. Regent Lord Lor'themar Theron, however, is not a magi, and thus it could be possible that Rommath was promoted due to that fact.
- In the first official writing contest winner, In the shadow of the sun, the position of Grand Magister is shown to be highly prestigious, and Rommath is shown to hold a higher position than Archmage Aethas Sunreaver as a result.
