Bind to Account (BtA) is a new form of item binding that was introduced in Patch 3.0.2. Items that are BtA includes Heirlooms, Collector's Edition companions and the Inv pet babyblizzardbear [Baby Blizzard Bear].

Some players may use the term BoA instead of BtA to keep in line with the BoP and BoE convention.

Account-bound items can be mailed to any character that shares the same account and server. From patch 3.3 account-bound items can be mailed to characters of opposing faction.

Limitations

All Bind to Account items are considered as a level 1 when looking at the item level. This means that only enchantments without an item level requirement can be put on these pieces; enchantments such as Enchant Weapon - Crusader and Enchant Weapon - Agility are good examples of enchants without an item level requirement.
