Azurelode Mine (Cataclysm)

Azurelode Mine

The Azurelode Mine[33, 74]VZ-Hillsbrad FoothillsBlip is a mine in southwestern Hillsbrad Foothills, south of Hillsbrad Fields and west of what was once Southshore.

History[]

Before the Greymane Wall was built, Azurelode Mine and its surrounding hill were a part of Gilneas.[1]

WoW Icon update This section concerns content related to the original World of Warcraft.

During the time of the Battle for Hillsbrad, it was an Alliance-controlled mine. It was a home to miners under Foreman Bonds from Hillsbrad Fields,[2] and had guards to protects the miners. It supplied iron to Alliance armories.[3]

Cataclysm This section concerns content related to Cataclysm.

After the Cataclysm, the mine was taken over by the Forsaken and became a spider farm led by Spider-Handler Sarus, with Captain Keyton and Dreadguards guarding the farm. The remaining humans (Hillsbrad Sentry, Hillsbrad Foreman and Hillsbrad Miners) which were not able to escape in time have been paralyzed by the spiders' Paralytic Poison. These humans are being saved until they're needed at the Sludge Fields to the north. Unfortunately, Dumass has also fallen prey to the spiders and must be rescued.

The Domesticated Mine Creepers, which have not been fed for days, have begun sampling the humans and refuse commands to stop. The Forsaken can't feed them at the moment due to their "supplies" being stolen by the nearby murlocs, but they also can't leave to gather new supplies as they're afraid the same murlocs will take over the mine as soon as they leave.

Battle for Azeroth This section concerns content related to Battle for Azeroth.

During the Fourth War, the mine was a battlefield between the Alliance and Horde.[4][5]

Prior to Cataclysm, the Horde had three quests that involved this area:

Notes[]

  • The "supplies" appears to actually be their special plague, which according to them does not exist.
  • Azurite seems to be harvested from the mine.
