Lock and Load is a Clearcasting-type hunter talent. When it activates, it allows the hunter's next two Arcane Shots or Explosive Shots to be fired with no cooldown (though it still invokes the global cooldown), and no focus cost.
The chance to proc can be increased with [T.N.T.].
Notes
When this procs, it does not end the cooldown of Explosive Shot or Arcane Shot (which is normally 6 seconds). The Lock and Load buff lasts for 12 seconds.
Remember to not instantly smash all Explosive Shots when this procs, since the DoTs will overwrite each other, significantly reducting the overall damage.
Patch changes
Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Moved from Tier 4 to Tier 3 and now has 2 Ranks (50/100%), down from 3 (33/66/100%). Now only procs from Freezing Trap and Ice Trap.
Previously, it could also proc off of Explosive Trap, Immolation Trap, or Black Arrow.
Now has a 22 second cooldown. The Lock and Load effect cannot be obtained on targets immune to snare effects when Frost Trap is used.
The tooltip for this talent has been updated to indicate that it also works with Explosive Trap.
Patch 3.1.2 (2009-05-19): The tooltip has been corrected to display its actual chance to occur.
Patch 3.1.0 (2009-04-14): Re-designed: You now have a 33/66/100% chance when you trap a target with Freezing Trap, Freezing Arrow or Frost Trap and a 2/4/6% chance when you deal periodic damage with your Immolation Trap or Black Arrow to cause your next 2 Arcane Shot or Explosive Shot spells to trigger no cooldown, cost no mana and consume no ammo. This now has a new spell effect and sound.
Prior to this, it could proc off of [Serpent Sting]'s periodic damage, and any trap.
