The Age of Chaos[1] started with the opening of the Dark Portal, leading to the First War,[2] the Second War, the Plague of Lordaeron, the Third War and ending with the Battle of Mount Hyjal. It was a period of destruction unseen since the times of the Great Sundering. After this, a New Age came to be.[3]
